Fogo Island is a town located on Fogo Island, the largest of the offshore islands in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The town was incorporated on March 1, 2011 following the amalgamation of the towns of Fogo, Joe Batt's Arm-Barr'd Islands-Shoal Bay, Seldom-Little Seldom and Tilting and a portion of the Fogo Island Region.[1]
Demographics
In the 2011 Census, the amalgamated Town of Fogo Island had a population of 2,395, of which 658 people lived in the former Town of Fogo, 685 in the former Town of Joe Batt's Arm-Barr'd Islands-Shoal Bay, 427 in the former Town of Seldom-Little Seldom, 204 in the Town of Tilting and 421 in the portion of the Fogo Island Region.[1] Joe Batt's Arm was the largest of the former towns.
