Florin Lucian Tănase (Romanian pronunciation: [floˈrin lut͡ʃiˈan təˈnase]; born 30 December 1994) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays for Steaua București as a forward or a winger.
Club career
Early career
On 23 February 2014, aged 19, Tănase scored his first Liga I goal in Viitorul Constanța's 2–1 away win against Dinamo București.[1]
Steaua București
On 8 August 2016, Steaua București signed Tănase on a five-year deal for a reported €1.5 million, with his former club being entitled to 25% of a future transfer fee.[2][3] He was assigned the number 10 jersey and scored four days later on his debut for the Roș-albaștrii, his goal helping to a 2–0 away victory over FC Botoșani.[4]
On 2 August 2017, he netted his first European goal in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round 4–1 away succes against Viktoria Plzeň.[5]
International career
On 31 May 2014, Tănase earned his first cap for Romania in a 1–0 win against Albania after coming on as a 83rd-minute substitute for Alexandru Maxim.[6]
Style of play
Tănase can be deployed in several offensive positions and has been regarded by former Romanian international Gheorghe Hagi as one of the most promising talents of his generation.[7][8]
