Fireballs are an Australian psychobilly band, based in Melbourne, Victoria. They reformed with the original lineup in December 2005 after an 8-year absence to support Mötley Crüe and Motörhead at the Blackjack festival in Perth. They then played shows around Australia and Japan, and in 2007 a new line up evolved. Eddie Fury and Joe Phantom remain, Matt Black has been replaced by Pete Speed and Dylan Villain, who both play guitar.

History

Fireballs, composed of Eddie Fury, Joe Phantom, and Matt Black formed in Melbourne, Australia in May 1990. They have performed on support tours with Kiss, 5,6,7,8's, Dick Dale, The Supersuckers, Porno for Pyros, Midnight Oil and Primus. They have also played slots on many of Australia's major festivals including the 1995 Big Day Out tour.

During their career peak of 1994–1997, they played up to 400 shows a year and broke enough house attendance records to warrant their own Fire Department file.[1] The Fireballs also featured in a series of three comics by Dillon Naylor.

In October 1997 the hectic pace of touring as well as other pressures caused the band to split. Eight years later in December 2005, they reunited to support Mötley Crüe at the Blackjack festival in Perth.[2]

Presently, Fireballs play occasional shows, and they are currently still touring.
