Xella International GmbH is a corporate group with headquarters in Duisburg, Germany, manufactures and markets building materials, gypsum fibreboard and cement-bonded dry lining panels together with lime and limestone. The company is active in three business segments: building materials, dry lining and lime.

The Building Materials Business Unit sells autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) and calcium-silicate units to the construction industry, under the brands Ytong, Hebel, Multipor and Silka. In raw materials, the company sells lime and limestone under the Fels brand for steel manufacturers, the construction industry and the environment sector. In dry lining, the company sells eco-friendly gypsum fibre and cement bonded board under the brands Fermacell and Aestuver for insulation and fire protection.

Fermacell

Fermacell, is part of the Xella Group which manufactures dry-lining boards for walls, ceilings and floors. The boards have fire retardant properties and high levels of acoustic insulation - Rw 43 dB from a single layer partitions with no insulation..

Fermacell gypsum fibreboards are made from recycled gypsum, recycled newspapers and water, mixed in a homogeneous mass which are then cured and cut to sizes of up to 6000 x 2540mm. Due to their strength and durability, radiators, kitchen cabinets and TVs can be affixed to them without any additional patressing or support. In some cases it is used as an alternative to brickwork, CP and sheathing boards.

Fermacell also manufactures cement based boards and flooring for a complete dry build system.
