Feer Khan Shujauddin

Syedna Moulana Feerkhan Shujauddin [1] (died 9 Zilkad 1065 AH /1657 AD), Ahmedabad, India) was the 33 rd Da'i al-Mutlaq (Absolute Missionary) of the Dawoodi Bohra sect of Musta‘lī Islam. He succeeded, the 32 nd Dai Syedna Qutubuddin Shaheed, to the religious post. He became Da'i al-Mutlaq in 1056 AH [2] (1648AD) and his period of Dawat was from 1056 -1065 AH ( 1648-1657 AD). [3][4]

The Dawoodi Bohra Dais are appointed one after other in the philosophy /faith of “nass’ as done by earlier Imams. Fatimid/Bohra believe that the god representative will be always there on earth as his Imam and can not die before appointing his true successor.

This fact got further strength in the period of Syedna Feer Khan, He was prisoned in Aurangabad By Mughal prince Aurangjeb. Thereafter he was shifted to Lahore and placed in stable, which on the following night happened to catch fire and was totally destroyed except the dungeon, where in Syedna kept. He was found quite safe in the morning. All people held that the conflagration was due to his captivity. By an imperial order Aurangzeb was compelled to set Syedna at liberty and grant him a safe and honourable return to Ahmedabad. This also show that he was true representative of Imamat and god saved him.[5][6]
