Farooq Siddiqi is a Canadian-based Kashmiri engineer and politician.[1] Siddiqi was born in 1950, in Kashmiri family in Srinagar, Kashmir.[1] Siddiqi is the former chairman and senior front leader of a faction of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front[2] and head of the World Kashmiri Diaspora Alliance.[3][4][5][6] He works for the autonomy of Kashmir.[7]
Background
Farooq Siddiqi was born in Srinagar, Kashmir. He is a native Kashmiri and engineer by profession. He studied at Islamia high school, Srinagar. He earned B.E degree from the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar. He moved to Saudi Arabia as an engineer. He currently works for Candevcon Consulting Engineers and Planners, Toronto.
Politics
Farooq Siddiqi started his political career in Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front and remained a senior leader.[8] He believes in transparency of Kashmir affairs.
Farooq Siddiqi is currently the head of World Kashmir Diaspora Alliance in Canada.[9]
