Faeroestygarctus dezioae is a species of armoured marine tardigrades. It is the only species of Faroestygarctus, a genus of Stygarctidae.[1]
The genus and species name is named after where it was first described, the Faeroe Islands, it was described in 2012 by Jesper Guldberg Hansen, Reinhardt Møbjerg Kristensen and Aslak Jørgensen. It is also endemic.[1]
Etymology
The specific name is the Latin name fluviatillis where it is primarily founded by streams.
