The Fairfield Transportation Center or FTC is a bus station is Fairfield, California, United States.[1] The facility serves as a bus hub for transportation on local, commuter, and long-distance bus services. There are plans to expand the center.[2] Casual carpooling is also done here.[3]
Transit
The hub is served by Fairfield and Suisun Transit (FAST) bus service predominantly. This includes local bus service 1, 3, 5, and 7. School service line 7T also stops here. Solano Express intercity commuter routes also stop here. These include the 20 which connects to Vacaville Transportation Center, the 30 that travels to downtown Sacramento, the 40 to Walnut Creek BART station, and 90 to El Cerrito del Norte BART station.[4] The Rio Vista Delta Breeze operates a bus line here that connects to the town of Rio Vista and Isleton. SolTrans runs line 85 to the Vallejo Ferry Terminal. Lastly Napa VINE runs bus route 29 to Napa. Parking is in high demand here and some people park in nearby shopping centers risking being towed. In 2012 the city of Fairfield planned on expanding the site by adding 1,000 more parking spaces and moving the vanpooling to a site 1/3 miles away.[5] There is electric vehicle charging here provided by Tesla.[6] In 2016 it was reported that a colorful glass styled 1,200 space parking garage was to be added by 2019.[7] The center may be the site of a future BART station or a site near the Solano Town Center may be used.
