The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour (known between 2003 and 2012 as the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour for sponsorship reasons[7]) is the worldwide professional beach volleyball tour for both men and women organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The World Tour was introduced for men in 1989 while the women first competed in 1992.
Winning the World Tour is considered to be one of the highest honours in international beach volleyball, being surpassed only by the World Championships, and the Beach Volleyball tournament at the Summer Olympic Games.
Tournament categories
- FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships: The world championship for the category, held biannually in odd years since 1997.
- 5-star tournaments/Major Series (5) : For the 2017 World Tour these tournaments are held in Fort Lauderdale, Rome, Poreč, Gstaad and Hamburg.
- Year-ending championships (Swatch Beach Volleyball FIVB World Tour Finals): Held annually since 2015.
- 4-star tournaments (3): For the 2017 World Tour these tournaments are held in Rio de Janeiro, Lucerne and Olsztyn.
- 3-star tournaments (6): For the 2017 World Tour these tournaments are held in Kish Island, Xiamen, Moscow, The Hague, Qinzhou and Phuket.
- 2-star tournaments (4): For the 2017 World Tour these tournaments are held in Espinho, Sydney, Nanjing and Nantong.
- 1-star tournaments (7): For the 2017 World Tour these tournaments are held in Shepparton, Langkawi, Pacific Harbour, Agadir, Monaco, Daegu and Ulsan.

The Swatch Season Finals are the season-ending championships of the FIVB World Tour and features the top 12 teams per gender during the regular season. The tournament was first held in 2015.
