Führerhauptquartier Wasserburg
The Führerhauptquartier Wasserburg[1] was a bunker facility built by the german organization Todt. It was built during the Second World War near Pleskau (Russian: Pskov) in the Soviet Union. The facility, which was named Wasserburg and had been erected as a front-line Führerhauptquartier, about four kilometers north-west of Pleskau on a loop of the Welikaja river. The construction started from 1 November 1942 on. The centerpiece of the complex was an old castle-like mansion.[2] The bunker was never used by Hitler as a leader's headquarters, but after the completion it was used by the german Army Group North (Heeresgruppe Nord) as a military headquarter.[3]
