Eva van Marle
Eva van Marle was possibly a Dutch Golden Age painter active in Overijssel.
Biography
According to the RKD she was possibly the teacher of Hendrick ten Oever.[1] She signed her works with the monogram EM.F. and her oldest known work is a portrait of a goldsmith, who was the brother-in-law of Gerard ter Borch the Elder, dated 1645.[2] Six portraits by her hand hang in the Vrouwenhuis, Zwolle, but little else is known of her.[1] Her works consist only of portraits dated in the 1640s and 1650s.[1][3]
Attribution
Recent research is doubtful about the existence of Eva van Marle, and questions the (19th century) attributions.[4][5]
