Eshaq Jahangiri, was named as Iranian Reformists's nominee for Iranian presidential election, 2017 in December 2016. He launched his campaign in April 2017.[3] On 16 May 2017, Jahangiri withdrew and endorsed Hassan Rouhani.

Jahangiri as over or successor Hassan Rouhani at Iranian presidential election, 2017.[4] a member of the reformers said, Jahangiri he emphasized that he’s the only cover candidate who is supported by reformists. Jahangiri said he would not compete against the president. “I will stand by Mr Rouhani and complement him” he said after his nomination.[5]
