Career
Salkić comes from the city of Sežana in the Karst region of western Slovenia. He started his career in Koper and came through the ranks there, but made his debut for Interblock in the 2006–07 season. After being a regular in the next season, injuries ruined his progress during the 2008–09 season. His contract ran out in the summer of 2009, and he signed for Olimpija Ljubljana on a free transfer.
