Envy is a hip-hop performer/songwriter/engineer whose music has appeared in numerous movies and television programs. His notable singles include Stagga Dance (2011) and Ringtone (2008). Envy's singles have charted on Billboard as well as RadioWave.

Early life

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Envy's music career began at an early age. He draws inspiration from a variety of music, from Pop to soul music, country music to jazz, Rock to hip hop, as well as notable acts from Minneapolis, including Prince and Mint Condition. His decision to pursue a career in music was heavily influenced by his older sister, who died when he was 17.[1][2]

Music career

Envy's music has appeared on numerous movie soundtracks, including A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas,[3] Lottery Ticket, and Piranha 3D.[4] His music has also appeared on E!'s Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, MTV's The Hills and VH1's Basketball Wives.[1][1]

Ringtone, his first notable hit, hit number 1 on Billboard's Hip Hop/R&B Single Sales chart[1][1] in 2008 and has logged over a million views on YouTube.[5]

Stagga Dance, released in 2011, also charted on RadioWave.[1][1]

His debut album, The Pulse, was released on June 7, 2011.[1]
