Entebbe (film)

Entebbe is an upcoming British crime thriller film directed by José Padilha and written by Gregory Burke. The film stars Rosamund Pike, and Daniel Brühl. The film is set for release on March 16, 2018.

Plot

Four hijackers take over an airplane, take the passengers hostage, and force it to land in Entebbe, Uganda in 1976 in an effort to free of dozens of Palestinian terrorists jailed in Israel.

Production

On 11 February 2016, it was announced that José Padilha would next direct Entebbe for Working Title Films and StudioCanal, from a script by Gregory Burke. A true story of Operation Entebbe.[1] On 29 July 2016, Rosamund Pike, Daniel Brühl and Vincent Cassel joined the film to play the lead roles in the film.[2]

Principal photography on the film began on November 14, 2016 in Malta, while the production also took place in the UK.[3][4] A real hijacking took place during filming at the Malta International Airport.[5]
