The Embassy of The Gambia, London is the diplomatic mission of The Gambia in the United Kingdom.[1] It is located on Ledbury Road in the Bayswater/Notting Hill area.[1]
Prior to October 2013, the Embassy of The Gambia was the High Commission of The Gambia. The name was changed due to The Gambia's withdrawal from the Commonwealth.
The Embassy has seen several protests in recent times: in 2013 by people opposed to the government of Yahya Jammeh[2] and also in 2013 by those opposed to alleged homophobia in the country.[3]
After Adama Barrow has been inaugurated as President of the Gambia, The Gambia will be returning to its membership of the Commonwealth.
Embassies in Commonwealth countries will revert to being High Commissions, and their Ambassadors will be replaced with High Commissioners
