Elias
Elijah (Hebrew Eliyahu) was a prophet in Israel in the 9th century BCE, mentioned in several holy books. Elias is the Greek equivalent. Due to his prominent role in the original Scriptures and to many later traditions associated with him, his name is used as personal male name in numerous languages.
