Electronic Temperature Instruments (ETI) is a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of thermometers, portable test and measurement instrumentation. ETI is a major supplier of catering, industrial, HVAC, refrigeration thermometers, and environmental monitoring instruments for markets as diverse as food service and production, and chemical, pharmaceutical, and building services.

History

The company was founded in 1983 in Worthing, West Sussex on the south coast of England.[1] It started as a specialized, small company providing thermometers to the catering industry. ETI was one of the first UK companies to develop a range of digital thermometers specifically designed for food, manufacturing, and many other industries. The company has been privately owned since inception. Today, Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd has 2 factories (40,000 sq. ft.) and over 50 distributors around the world.

The United States is ETI's largest export market. ETI has expanded its product line to include a large variety of temperature measuring instruments, such as thermometers, data loggers, humidity and dew point meters, pH meters and damp/moisture meters.

ETI have been granted The Queen's Award for Industry for International trade three times: in 2012,[2] 2014,[3] and 2017.[4]

Impact and scope

Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd is the UK's largest digital thermometer and temperature probe manufacturer.

The purpose-built factory in Worthing has one of the most technically advanced commercial temperature calibration laboratories in the UK.[5]
