Electoral reform in Texas

Electoral reform in Texas refers to efforts to change the voting and election laws in the State of Texas. In 2001, State Representative Ron Wilson proposed lowering the state’s voting age to 14, and in 2003, he proposed lowering the state’s voting age to 16. Both of these measures died in committee. In 2017, bills were introduced in both houses of the Texas Legislature to enact the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, but they died.
