Dr. Eduardo Stein Barillas (born October 20, 1946) is a Guatemalan diplomat who was Vice President of Guatemala from January 14, 2004 to January 14, 2008, serving a concurrent four-year mandate with President Óscar Berger.
Prior to his election, he held a number of positions with the International Organization for Migration, the United Nations Development Programme, and the Organization of American States. He also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs under President Álvaro Arzú from January 14, 1996 to January 14, 2000.
Eduardo Stein is a Member of the Global Leadership Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that offers, discreetly and confidentially, a range of experienced advisors to political leaders facing difficult situations. Stein also sits on the Board of Directors of the Inter-American Dialogue.
