History
EKWB was founded in 1999 by Edvard König, who wanted better thermal and acoustic performance for his personal computer. The company released new versions of their products, resulting in a 40% cooling performance increase from 2006 to 2011. As of 2011 EKWB was one of the three largest personal computer water cooling companies.[1] EKWB works with the overclocking community through forums to better understand the needs of its customers.[2]
Products
EKWB specializes in cooling supplies. Its product line includes: Supremacy CPU water blocks, Cool Stream radiators, Vardar computer fans, Predator AIO (All-in-one) liquid cooling sets and several accessories.[3]
Supremacy EVO CPU water blocks
The block can be plated with materials such as copper, nickel or aluminum. The core manufactured with nickel or plexi. The Supremacy EVO series can produce a 32 °C improvement over the stock Intel cooler with an Intel i7 4770k at stock speeds, a Cool Stream PE 240mm radiator, 2 Helix-120-BW-PWM ans and no reservoir.[4]
Cool Stream Radiators
Cool Stream radiators are manufactured using copper fins in an aluminum housing along with brass chambers and copper tubing. As of 2015 the 240mm model offered an average power dissipation that is 9.6% per 10 °C better than the closest competitor.[5]
Vardar Fans
The company includes these fans with their kits and AIO solutions. The fans are optimized for high static pressure instead of airflow, which makes them suitable for radiators. The 120mm variant offers quiet operation and high airflow, with 32 dBA noise generation and 120 FPM of linear airflow, running at 1000 RPM after a MCR120QP radiator..[6]
EK-Predator AIO (All-in-one) kits
The AIO kit consists of Supremacy water blocks, Vardar fans, Cool stream radiators, and DDC water pumps. Because of the inclusion of these components, the kit offers a 35.1 °C improvement over the stock Intel cooler on an i7 4770k at stock speed, albeit at significantly higher cost versus competitors.[7]
