Dunărea Sports Hall is an indoor arena in Galați, Romania and is the home ground of basketball, handball and volleyball clubs from Galați. The arena was opened in 1973 and closed in 2000 after cracks were found in the strength structure. Galați Municipality tried to renovate the building, but they did not have sufficient funds, so in early 2010's the hall became shelter for homeless people. In 2011 renovation works were restarted and finished in 3 years. So in 2013 Dunărea Sports Hall was re-opened after 13 years.[1][2]
