The black-bodied woodpecker or white-shouldered woodpecker (Dryocopus schulzii)[2][3][4] is a species of bird in the family Picidae. The genus is still under discussion, is proposed to "new world Dryocopus" (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) the genus Hylatomus. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, moist savanna, and plantations . It is near threatened by habitat loss.
