Drew Brads

Drew Brads (born August 12, 1999) is an American Rubik's cube speedsolver who holds the world record fastest average of five Pyraminx solves (excluding fastest and slowest), 2.04 seconds, set on 16 July 2017 at the World Championship 2017 in Paris.[1] He has broken the Pyraminx average world record 6 times since his first record on 23 August 2014, and formerly held the world record single solve with his 1.32 second solve on 24 October 2015 at Lexington Fall 2015.[2]

Brads also holds the North American record 3x3x3 solve, 4.76 seconds, set on 4 March 2017 at Bluegrass Spring 2017. This places 0.03 seconds behind the world record.[3]

Brads is a 3-time US national Pyraminx champion (2014, 2015, and 2017) and 2-time world Pyraminx champion (2013 and 2017).[4] Between 11 December 2011 and 30 July 2016 Brads competed in Pyraminx in 19 competitions, including two US National Championships, and took first in every round.[4] Since 2011, the only competition he has lost in Pyraminx is US Nationals 2016, in which he won the first three rounds but took second in the final.[4] At US Nationals 2015, Brads won 3x3x3 and Skewb in addition to Pyraminx.[5]

Brads currently attends Legacy Christian Academy, a private Academy in Xenia, Ohio.
