History

Aiming to bring about change and progress through education, the Tmt. Kannammal Educational Trust was constituted in 1985 and started Thai Moogambigai Polytechnic College. Within three years of its inception, Dr. M.G.R. Engineering College was founded in 1988 and the Thai Moogambigai Dental College was started in the year 1991.

Admissions

Admission into this prestigious institute is merit-based, while consideration is given to norms set by the respective statutory councils like the AICTE, DCI, MCI, Nursing Council and the National Council for Teachers Education. Admission is open to students from all over the world who will be selected on the basis of an entrance exams. The Institute provides adequate representation to students coming from the underprivileged sections of society. Physically challenged students and students who excel in sports are also given preference.

The Institute has adopted a flexible credit-based system, with high standards in the design of its educational system. The Bachelor’s degree programmes are divided into eight semesters, while the Master’s degree programmes are split into four semesters. Part-time Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses are also available, Keeping in mind the needs of working professionals the classes are conducted in the evenings.
