Donald Schmitt, MARCH, OAA, MRAIC, AIA, NCARB (born 1951) is a Canadian architect.[1]

Born in 1951 in South Porcupine, a mining town in northern Ontario, Canada, he went to high school at the University of Toronto Schools (UTS) and studied afterwards at the University of Toronto Faculty of Architecture.

Donald Schmitt has practiced architecture with A.J Diamond since 1978 and is a Principal in the firm currently known as Diamond Schmitt Architects Incorporated.

He is the Founding Chair of the City of Toronto Public Art Commission.[2] He is currently a member of the Advisory Committee on Planning, Design and Realty for Canada’s National Capitol Commission in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada[3] and is also a member of the Waterfront Toronto Revitalization Corporation (TWRC) Design Review Panel.[2] This group is responsible for reviewing waterfront designs for Toronto, Ontario Canada.
