Domingo Belgrano Pérez (1730-1795) was an Italian merchant and politician. He served during the Viceroyalty of Rio de la Plata as Regidor and Contador del Tribunal de Cuentas de Buenos Aires.[1]
Biography
Belgrano was born in Oneglia, Liguria (Italy), son of Carlo Nicola Felice Belgrano Berio and Marina Gentile Peri Tiragalo.[2] He arrived in the port of Buenos Aires from Cádiz, city where had lived for many years, its main activity was trade.[3]
In 1757 Belgrano was married in the Catedral Metropolitana to María Josefa González, daughter of Manuel González Islas and María Inés Casero. They were the parents of many children among them Carlos José Belgrano, Joseph Gregorio Belgrano,[4] Manuel Belgrano (creator of the Argentina flag) and Miguel Belgrano.[5]
