Diwan-i-Khas (Lahore Fort)

Diwan-i-Khas, Lahore

The Diwan-i-Khas, or Hall of Private Audiences, in the Lahore Fort in Lahore, Pakistan was the place where the Mughal emperor received courtiers and state guests.[1] In contrast to the Diwan-i-Am (Red Fort), the Diwan-i-Khas served as a hall where the Emperor would attend to matters of the state. The hall was sight of elaborate pageantry, with processions of up to one hour long occurring before each audience session.[2]
