Disney Riviera Resort is a proposed Disney Vacation Club Resort in Walt Disney World, to be built by Walt Disney Parks & Resorts between Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. It will be the first newly-constructed resort on the new Disney Skyliner gondola system.[1] It is expected to open in fall of 2019.[2][3]
Plans for the 300-room resort were released during the D23 Expo in 2017.[1] The hotel would be the 15th Disney Vacation Club property to be built.[1][2] It is also one of two hotels announced during the 2017 D23 Expo, the other being Star Wars Hotel.[2] The Riviera Resort is one of the 23 improvements to Disney Parks announced during D23.[4]
Bob Chapek, the chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, stated that the hotel would include a restaurant on its roof, providing views of Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.[1]
