Dimitrios "Dimitris" Konstantinidis (Greek: Δημήτρης Κωνσταντινίδης, born 2 June 1994 in Korinos, Pieria) is a Greek professional footballer who plays for PAOK FC as a right back.

Club career

PAOK

Konstantinidis started his career through the youth ranks of PAOK. He was 14 years old, when he was spotted by PAOK grassroots' staff. It was in a game against Florina FC and he was playing in the right midfield - they moved to sign him immediately. Not many players can boast having completed for PAOK senior squad while still members of the U17 team. The young rignt-back made his unofficial debut with the first team just turned 16 years old, against Partizan in a 2010 friendly game, just a few weeks turning 16! Initially, Konstantinidis played as a right midfielder, but in the academies turned to be a fully right-back player.[1]

On 26 August 2012 he made his league debut in a 1-0 home win against Panthrakikos. At the end of the season, he signed a five years contract with the club, for an undisclosed fee.[2] The 21 years old Konstantinidis in the third UEFA Europa League qualifying round, by scoring his first goal with PAOK, equalized the score sending the club in the UEFA Europa League playoffs. In 2012-13 season he made 18 appearances proving he is a promising prospect for PAOK and the Greek football. In January 2014, he was given on loan to Aiginiakos. He returned to PAOK after six months.

On 6 August 2015, he scored his first goal with the club in all competitions in a 1-1 away draw for UEFA Europa League third preliminary round against Spartak Trnava. On 10 December 2015, Konstantinidis played a marvelous pass to Robert Mak, who dribbled around Roman Weidenfeller to make it 0-1 after just over half an hour, when Borussia Dortmund lost their last home game in the UEFA Europa League group stage 0-1 to Greek side PAOK.[3] His exceptional performance was the key for his selection to the best UEFA Europa League squad of the week.[4] On 20 December 2015, Konstantinidis suffered a cruciate ligament injury during Super League home game against Platanias. There are now fears that Konstantinidis will lose the remainder of the season.[5]

Omonia Nicosia

On 8 August 2016, Konstantinidis joined the Cypriot club Omonia on a twelve month loan deal from PAOK.[6] He had 20 appearances with the club. On 26 May 2017 the club announced that with the end of the season the player is released.[7]

International career

He was a member of all Greek national teams. At the age of 18, he was a starter for the Greece U20 team that participated in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Turkey.
