Diego Demme (born 21 November 1991) is a German professional footballer[2] who plays as a defensive midfielder for Bundesliga club RB Leipzig and the Germany national team.
Club career
Demme started off his professional footballing career in Arminia Bielefeld where he stayed in the club for three years before moving to SC Paderborn 07.
He moved to Paderborn in 2012 and played in the 2. Bundesliga.
He then went on to signed for RB Leipzig where he played in the 3. Liga in 2014, before being promoted to 2. Bundesliga. The team then was promoted to the Bundesliga to play in the 2016–17 Bundesliga.
International career
Demme was first called up to the national team in 2017, for the friendly against Denmark on 6 June 2017, for the 2018 World Cup qualification match against San Marino on 10 June 2017, in which he made his international debut, and for the 2017 Confederations Cup, but withdrew from the squad ahead of the tournament due to a back injury.[3][4]
