Dharma Samsthapana is a Social Service Movement (SSM) formed initially to protect Chilkuru Balaji Temple from the Endowments Department of Andhra Pradesh. Right from day One the congress government in the leadership Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy is creating problems in one way other to take the Chilkuru Balaji temple into their hands and introduce all types of commercial elements to pilgrim city. To protect the temple from going into endowments departments hand Dharma Samsthapana is formed.

Chilkuru Balaji Temple has great history. It has parampara of archaka's who are academically highly qualified. The current pradhana archaka of the temple is Dr. M.V.Soundararajan.

Chilkuru Balaji Temple

Chilkur Balaji Temple of Hyderabad the most ancient temple in north part of Andhra pradesh i.e. Telangana, was built during the days of Akkanna and Maadanna, the uncles of Bhakta Ramdas. The deity in this temple is Swayambhu and is accompanied with Sridevi and Bhoodevi, both standing besides the deity.

Chilkuru Balaji Temple has very high foot falls of devotees who believe that their wishes will be realised with pradakshina to Lord Balaji. People visit this holy place throughout the year. Every Saturday and Sunday there will be a wave of people and who are doing pradakshina's. The brahmhostavams are celebrated with great penchant and vigour. He is also called as VISA GOD.

Pradakshina's were the only offering a person can give to this very powerful GOD.

Support to handloom weavers Industry

Dharmasamsthapana supports Sircilla weavers. The NGO supports environment development.

The temple has introduced a dress code. Starting April 2008, Devotees are requested to wear handloom clothes on Saturdays. Lakhs of weavers in and around sircilla handloom industry are committing suicides. The dress code has been introduced to encourage handloom industries in these area of Andhra Pradesh.[1][2] and also to protect polluting the environment with plastic, Chilkur Balaji Temple banned using plastics in the temple area and introduced hand weaved bags with the help from Sircilla handloom weavers.[3]

History of Dharma Samsthapana

As mentioned above Dharma Samsthapan is an SSM formed to protect Chilkuru Balaji Temple.

Many people from different places heard about this SSM, Protect Chilkur Balaji Temple, they started asking the SSM to help the ruined temples in the state to get them into lime light. So to help all the temples SSM has changed its name from Chilkur Balaji centric to a more broader name i.e. Dharma Samsthapana.

Chilkur Balaji Temple or VISA Balaji Temple – from being a small temple at one end of the city of Hyderabad, Chilkur Balaji Temple has gained tremendous world wide recognisation. The temple is famous for not having hundi, entry tickets and monetary sevas.

Blame it on Vaasthu Dhosham, Kaala Dhosham or any other aspect, the fact is that, even Chilkur Balaji Temple ran into problems and was on the verge of being closed. "We will lock the Temple and handover the keys to Hon.Chief Minister” Dr. Soundara Rajan announced in a press release.

On 26 February 2006, Kishore a devotee decided to fight for a cause. He took an oath to protect the temple from being taken over by the Endowments Department by putting his life and career at stake. Launched a website, www.protectchilukurubalajitemple.com, which carried an “online petition – requesting devotees worldwide to support the cause. Today, having won the case Chilkur Balaji Temple authorities, villagers and devotees celebrating and enjoying freedom from Endowment Dept.

Dharma Samsthapana, a dedicated and devoted volunteer organization was formed with the support of like minded Friends and Devotees. These devotees, who are full-time Software Professionals, Doctors, Engineers and Students, dedicate their free time for service in the Chilkur Balaji temple on all auspicious days and public holidays. Apart from this, Dharmasamsthapana also work towards protecting and supporting over 11 other Temples, Temple Lands and their Archakas in the districts of Warangal, Nizamabad and RR.

Chilkur Balaji Temple has been announced totally autonomous - free from Endowments Dept [4] on March 4, 2008. This is one of the biggest achievements of the movement. Now after protecting Chilkur, dharma samsthapana stepped its activities to others temples in other places. We request people to help us in this ordeal.
