Dera Shish is an Assyrian village in Dohuk Province of Iraqi Kurdistan. The village is in a remote mountain range on the northeastern edge of Iraq. The village is well known as it is a site of pilgrimage, and there is a monastery dedicated to Mar Etken. The entire village was destroyed and the monastery was bombed during the Al-Anfal Campaign, but was rebuilt in the 2000s by Sarkis Aghajan.[1]
