Delta Fraternity and Sorority International[1] - also known as Deltans 1961 or Delta International is founded on October 24,1961 at the University of Santo Tomás, Sampaloc Manila, Philippines. It is registered in the Philippines under the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) No. CN20082662.[2]
Mission
It's a not-for-profit organization. The purpose of this fraternity and sorority is to assemble college students to develop leadership, "To Promote true Brotherhood and Sisterhood".
General Information
The DELTA Fraternity & Sorority is a fraternal organization for college students that mainly lead its members to have the right mind-set in academic education in order to have a better future. Aside from attaining good scholastic record, this fraternal organization is also into humanitarian services especially to those who are in need and enhance the member’s social awareness to the society. But the most important definition of DELTA Fraternity & Sorority is Family.
In the late 60's many organizations roamed around the Philippines and one of them was DELTA International established on October 24, 1961 at the University of Santo Tomas.[3] The founder was Emmanuel Uyguanco. Members are guided by the motto "To Open Doors for Good Government".
Who is a Deltan
- You will know a Deltan, not of his appearance or the marking on his left hand but also someone who despite of setbacks to any of his endeavor, his dignity is intact. For a Deltan will always accept the mistakes he made and hold his head up high for he knows he never wronged anyone.
- You will know a Deltan for he is surrounded by people coming from all walks of life. He respects these people despite of their shortcomings because a Deltan honors their friendship.
- You will know a Deltan for people respect him. And in return, a Deltan respects people equally based on their personality, intelligence, capability, and integrity. A Deltan never looked at one’s stature in life.
- You will know a Deltan because he is loyal. A Deltan protects the name of DELTA Fraternity & Sorority. Just as he loyally defend his friendship with other people and his relationship with family.
- You will know a Deltan for he can be trusted. A Deltan knows that a task assigned him is always important to the organization and does it diligently. A Deltan is trustworthy for it is the character of being one.
The Distinguish Symbol
You will know a Deltan through a triangle burned on the back of his left hand with its edge pointing in between the middle and ring fingers. A person shall not be recognized as a Deltan without this mark.
Marking the symbol on his hand is one of the most important stages of a full pledge Deltan.
The Logo
The logo of DELTA Fraternity & Sorority International symbolize the following:
- The solid Triangle (∆) that is found at the center of the logo represents a strong foundation or stability of the organization, as it is rooted to the ground through a solid base. Deltans were born with the solid foundation of fellowship, faith, values and solidarity. The triangle is used in science and mathematical equation to denote change. Deltans are open for change and continuously improve for the betterment of the organization. The Greek symbol, δ denotes a sound. Like the symbol, Deltans also create sound, a silent sound that nobody can hear it but felt by the community its extensive presence for its Humanitarian Service.
- The Wings extending upward symbolizes the desire of each member to rise above every challenge. Deltans believe that no matter what happen, they will still stand up for what they believe is right and just. It also symbolizes freedom and Flight. Flight opens up a new world in which all are not limited in movement by the ground. It symbolizes the opportunity to get back up and take back control of our new lives.
- The Pillars that can be found under the triangle symbolize the solid foundation which during in the making of a Deltan, traditions and good experiences are basic to every Deltan. It represent the Equilibrium, just like it, Deltans weigh things before coming up a decision. It also supports to the loads. Just like the pillars, Deltans support to good government.
- The Circles that encloses all elements represent unity. Deltans believe that despite of different views and opinions, these are flavors which are necessary to prepare every member to exercise their rights to express one's side. After all, these are all parts of sharpening a Deltan.
- The words "Humanitarian Service" describes the effort of the organization to extend help or whatever necessary assistance to all members and others in any way the organization can.

Assemblies of Deltans
Many Deltans around the world has gathered together to continue fellowship. In areas where Deltans migrated for work, they met regularly for get-together and occasions like anniversary.

Conventions
Annual convention was originally held every October. The schedule were days before the celebrated foundation day on October 24. Due to the occasions were very close, 2013 convention held in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte decided to move the convention 6 months away specifically on April to give enough time to focus the preparation of each occasion.
