David "Dave" Rainford (born 1968) is an English quiz contestant.
Rainford was born in Withington, Manchester, and is of Jamaican heritage. He was educated at Manchester Grammar School and Parrs Wood High School.[1] He has a daughter, Ella, by his former partner Tina.[2]
He appeared on Channel 4's game show Remote Control in 1991.[3]
On 9 April 2005, Rainford won £250,000 on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.[2] He was also a contestant on Are You an Egghead?, after appearing on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.
Having replaced CJ de Mooi in 27 September 2012, he competes alongside other quiz champions in the UK quiz show Eggheads, in which members of the public pit their wits against them in order to win a cash prize.[4]
