David Lynn is an English footballer who currently plays for Thame United in the Southern Football League Division One Central as a left back.
Playing career
Oxford United
Lynn came through the development programme at Oxford United, having part of the system since the age of nine and played in the development teams, including the Oxford Under 18's side. Lynn signed a professional contract at the end of the 2012–13 season with the team for a year, with an option of an extra twelve months, under manager Chris Wilder. He was given the number 32 shirt.[1] Chairman of the U's, Ian Lenagen said, "The signing of these three talented young Oxford players shows the commitment of the club to youth development and to giving Oxford-trained players the chance to play in the Football League."
Lynn made a single appearance for Oxford in an FA Cup match against Gateshead.[2] Lynn was part of the squad for other League and Cup matches.
Chesham United
Twelve months after signing his professional contract, Lynn left Oxford for Chesham United in the Southern League Premier Division on a free transfer after not being offered a new deal at the Kassam Stadium.[3] Along with many other Chesham players, Lynn left the club in September 2014, under manager Andy Leese.
Banbury United and Dunstable move
In September 2014, Lynn moved to Banbury United, but he only made eight appearances, so he left for Dunstable Town in the Southern Football League. He did establish himself with 'the Blues' and made 17 appearances.
2015-present
Lynn moved to Aylesbury for a short period before signing for Thame United in October 2015, making his debut in the 2-2 draw against Lydney Town. At the end of the 2015-16 season, Lynn extended his stay at the club for the forthcoming campaign, after being named the Supporters Player of the Season after spending a second spell with Banbury United.[4] Lynn was promoted with the team at the end of the 2016-17 season.
