Plot summary

Ingrid Thorburn is a mentally unstable young woman in Pennsylvania who becomes obsessed with Taylor Sloane, a social media "influencer" with a seemingly perfect life in Los Angeles. When Ingrid decides to drop everything and move to the West Coast to befriend Taylor in real life, her behavior turns unsettling and increasingly dangerous.[4][5]

Cast

Production

Principal photography began on July 11, 2016 in Los Angeles and wrapped August 12, 2016 in Joshua Tree, California. A focal point of the film is the song All My Life by Kci & Jojo, initially this song was meant to be Seal's Kiss From a Rose, however Seal's asking price for the song was higher than the production could afford with Spicer's sister recommending the Kci and Jojo song as a replacement.[10]

Release

Ingrid Goes West had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2017. Shortly after, Neon acquired the North American distribution rights to the film.[11] It is scheduled to be released on August 4, 2017.[12]
