Dateline London is a weekly news discussion programme shown on the BBC News Channel and BBC World News.
It features a round table panel of leading foreign and British journalists, who discuss the week's top news stories from an international perspective.
Dateline London is initially broadcast at 11:30 am on Saturdays. It is subsequently repeated at 4:30 pm on Saturdays, at 2:30 am and 11:30 am on Sundays, and at 3:30 am on Mondays—each on the BBC News Channel.
Hosts
Dateline London was first hosted by Charles Wheeler, and subsequently by Gavin Esler.
Shaun Ley, Maxine Mawhinney, and Carole Walker, all served as stand-in hosts during Esler's tenure.
Esler hosted his final edition on 25 March 2017, and Mawhinney on 8 April 2017.
Walker left the BBC in March 2017, and Mawhinney in April 2017.
Since 15 April 2017, Dateline London has been hosted on rotation by either Jane Hill or Shaun Ley.
