Brigadier Daniel Aston Luxton (born 22 June 1891) was an Australian military commander in the first and Second world wars.[1]
Biography
Luxton served in the First Australian Imperial Force in the 5th Battalion. Luxton embarked Melbourne as a lieutenant in the battalion on 21 October 1914. After being repeatedly promoted over the course of the war, Luxton was appointed the commanding officer of the 5th Battalion on 8 March 1917. During his wartime service, Luxton was several times recommended for the Order of St Michael and St George,[2] and was awarded with the Distinguished Service Order.[3][4]
During World War II, Luxton served as a brigadier in the Australian Army.[1]
