Dane-Elec
Dane-Elec is a French maker of computer memory chips and storage products.[1][2]
It has had a manufacturing facility in Spiddal, County Galway, Ireland since 1996.[3] Major job losses were announced there in December 2010.[4]
In 2012, Dane-Elec filed for bankruptcy protection. In 2013, it was acquired (majority stake) by Gigastone Corporation, a Taiwanese manufacturer of flash memory products. Dane-Elec USA still exists as a subsidiary of Gigastone; however the Dane-Elec brand has been replaced with the Dane brand.
