Daniel E. Soder (born June 24, 1983) is an American stand up comedian, actor, and radio personality. He is best known for his frequent appearances on MTV2's Guy Code, Comedy Central Radio's The Bonfire, Robert Kelly's YKWD podcast, and the Keith and The Girl podcast. He also appeared in a recurring role on the Showtime drama series Billions (2016).

Early life

Soder was born in Hartford, Connecticut,[1] but was raised in Aurora, Colorado.[1] His father and sister both died while he was in high school.[2] He attended Smoky Hill High School in Aurora. He began performing stand-up comedy while a student at the University of Arizona.[3] After two years of college, he moved to New York City to further pursue his career.

Career

He has appeared on Comedy Central's The Half Hour, Conan, Opie and Anthony, The Anthony Cumia Show, MTV2's Guy Code, Fox Sports 1's Garbage Time with Katie Nolan, and the You Know What Dude! podcast with Robert Kelly. Since the firing of Anthony Cumia from the Opie & Anthony Show, Soder has been a frequent guest and "third mic" under the new Opie with Jim Norton format, on what is now the Faction Talk channel on Sirius Satellite Radio.[4] On May 21, 2016, Soder released his first hour long special on Comedy Central titled Not Special.[5]

Soder appeared in multiple episodes as a guest star on Inside Amy Schumer beginning in 2014, and also had a minor appearance in Schumer's film Trainwreck (2015).[6] On July 27, 2015, Soder along with fellow stand-up comedian Big Jay Oakerson premiered their 2-hour live radio talk show The Bonfire on SiriusXM's new Comedy Central Radio channel which is set to air live every Monday through Thursday (previously Mondays and Wednesdays) between 6-8pm EST.[7] [8] [9]

On March 19, 2016, Dan Soder made a special guest appearance on the popular wrestling podcast, Wrestling Soup, and also had a recurring role on the Showtime drama series Billions.[10] In late 2016, Soder was cast in the comedy Drunk Parents (2017), starring Alec Baldwin and Salma Hayek.[11]
