Dahyabhai Patel (1906[1]–1973) was the son of Indian leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, an Indian freedom fighter and later a member of the Parliament of India. Educated in Bombay, Dahyabhai Patel graduated from the Gujarat Vidyapith and began working for an insurance company, and settled in Bombay. His first wife Yashoda died, leaving him his son Bipin. He later married Bhanumati and had more children. His flat on Sandhurst Road and later Prabhadevi in Bombay was the frequent residence of Sardar Patel. Although primarily a businessman, Patel participated in the Quit India movement and was imprisoned from 1942 to 1944.
After India's independence, Patel won elections to the Lok Sabha in 1957 and 1962, and also served in the Rajya Sabha.[2]
