Daddy Issues is the unreleased debut studio album by American rapper and singer Brooke Candy. Originally titled Freaky Princess, it was scheduled to be released sometime during 2016.[1] After two years working on it, Candy stated that she considers the record finished.[2] It was set to be released in spring 2017,[3] now it's unknow if it will be even released after some declarations that Candy made in an interview she had with magazine Bullett.[4]
Background
Candy's debut album, called Daddy Issues, is currently being produced by label-mate Sia amongst others. Sia, who is an executive producer and a songwriter on the album, discovered Candy on Instagram and reached out to her, believing “that I was the only person who could really support [Candy] in becoming who [she is] on a grander stage or platform.”[5]
So far, Sia has written at least two songs for Candy's upcoming album, one being the single "Living Out Loud"[5] which features Sia herself, and another Cher-inspired record.[2] Other collaborators include Greg Kurstin, Jack Antonoff[6] and Matthew Koma.[2]

Singles
A song called "Rubber Band Stacks" was released as a single. The music video, directed by Cody Critcheloe[7] and styled by Nicola Formichetti, was premiered on August 17, 2015,[8][9] but it won't make the final cut to the album.[10] It was released on August 13, 2015 followed by its music video on August 18. The song is featured on the Madden NFL 16 video game.[11]
To anticipate her upcoming album, Candy released some buzz singles. On January 29, 2016; she released the first one titled "Happy Days".[12] On February 4, 2016 its video also styled by Formichetti and directed by Renata Raksha was premiered on Nylon,[13] and was later uploaded to VEVO. On May 13 she released the second, "Changes", to promote her second makeup line.[14] It was followed on June 2 by the third promotional song "Nasty" along with its music video, directed by Rankin and co-styled by Candy herself. It was premiered via Hunger TV.[15] A month later, on July 7, the track "Paper or Plastic" was released as the fourth.[16] The music video, directed by Darren Craig, premiered a week later.[17][18][19]
On December 16, 2016 Candy released a KDA remix of the previously unreleased song "Living Out Loud" which featured Sia.[20][21] The original and proper version of the song was released on February 3, 2017 as Daddy Issues lead single.[22][23][24]
