Timeline
In 1996, Audiovisual Communicators, Inc., owner of Monster Radio RX 93.1, opened its first provincial station as Dream Radio RX 93.1. It was also the first station in Zamboanga having the CHR Format. Its office was located at the 3rd Floor, Gold Fountain Centrum, Mayor Jaldon Street, Zamboanga City, Philippines. It aired pop, hiphop, rock and RnB music from 6:00 am to 12:00 am. It went off the air since January 2007, as its studios and transmitter were already vacated due to rental issues, contract expiration, and poor maintenance inside the building. Since then, ACI has put the station on sale.
In August 2013, Brigada Mass Media Corporation,[1] owner of Brigada Newspaper & 89.5 Brigada News FM General Santos, acquired the station and rebranded it to 93.1 Brigada News FM.[2] It is also the first station in Zamboanga having the News/Talk on FM Format. Despite its rebranding, the callsign DXRX is retained.
Brigada News FM Zamboanga went on air after the crisis in September 2013 and got the big slice of listenership among Zamboangueños and rated as the No.1 most-listened FM news and music station in Zamboanga City.[3]
Since the middle of 2015, Brigada News FM Zamboanga transferred its frequency to 89.9 (which was then owned by Baycomms Broadcasting Corporation, prior to its merger with Brigada in 2013). Since then, this frequency has been inactive.
