Olawunmi Okerayi, known by her stage name DJ Lambo[1], is a Nigerian disc jockey. Her song "Drank"[2] was produced by "Reinhard". The song received positive critical reviews and gained extensive airplay. She was signed to "Loopy Music" in 2013[3] before the merging between Loopy Music and Chocolate City in 2015.[4] She won "DJ of the Year (Female)" at the 2016 City People Entertainment Awards.[5] Nigerian Entertainment Today newspaper listed her on top 5 Nigerian dj's to watch out for in 2015.[6]

In 2017, DJ Lambo was among the few djs selected to play at Big Brother Nigeria Saturday's party at season 2 of Big Brother Naija reality game show.[7] After the party DJ Lambo won praise from current housemates "Bally", "Bassey", "Bisola", "Debie-Rise", "Efe", "Marvis" and "TBoss" for playing at their party.[8]

Early life

DJ Lambo grew up with four brothers.[9] Her father, "DJ Tony Lewis"[10] influenced her career as a disc jockey.[11]

Music career

She started her career professionally in 2008/2009 as an OAP in Raypower 100.5 FM, Rhythm FM 94.7 Abuja and Love 104.5 FM Abuja.[12]

DJ Lambo describes her sound as a fusion of "House music", Techno, Afro-Pop and Hip hop.

2017:Smirnoff Equalizing Music

On 8 March 2017, Smirnoff launches 'Equalizing Music' initiative on behalf of International Women's Day to celebrate female DJ'S around the world.[13] DJ Lambo was spotted on "Smirnoff Top Women Electronic Artists" playlist at number 18 with her single "Motion".[14]

On 20 March 2017, Smirnoff Nigeria also celebrated International Women's Day at Crest Hotels and Garden Jos with top three finalists of the "SMIRNOFF X1 FEMALE DJ" contestants alongside DJ Lambo & DJ Spinall at the event.[15]

2017:CBN President

On 14 June 2017, She was announced as the head and president of Choc Boi Nation (CBN) an imprint under Chocolate City Music. The announcement made her one of the Major and female Record Label Executives in the music industry in Nigeria. The press conference which held in Lagos was attended by co label mates MI Abaga, Dice Ailes, Koker, Loose Kaynon [16]

DJ Lambo has a degree in "English and Literature" from the University of Abuja.[17]
