Jason William Mizell Jr. (April 14, 1986), better known by his stage name DJ Jam Master J'Son, is an American musician, music producer, and Disc Jockey (DJ). He is the oldest son of legendary DJ, Jam Master Jay. He is currently the official DJ of the influential hip hop group Run–D.M.C[1]. During the 1980s, Run-D.M.C. became one of the biggest hip-hop groups and are credited with breaking hip-hop into mainstream music. DJ Jam Master J'Son has been touring internationally as a DJ with various international music stars since 2011. One of his younger brothers, T.J. Mizell, stars on the show Growing Up Hip Hop[2] on WE TV.
Early life
Mizell Jr. was born in New York City, New York. He appears in several legendary photos with his father as a child. He and his family relocated to the Atlanta metropolitan area in the years following the murder of his father in 2002. Mizell Jr. graduated from Norcross High School. He attended Middle Georgia State University. It was during this time period that he saw a mural of hip hop artists painted on the side of a nightclub that included his father, that inspired him to begin his career in entertainment as a DJ.
Career
DJ Jam Master J'Son began his career in entertainment DJing in local nightclubs in the town he attended college. Originally he went by the name DJ E.Z. Bread, but an acquaintance convinced him to switch his professional name to DJ Jam Master J'Son. The name pays homage to his shared professional and birth name with his legendary father.
In 2010, DJ Jam Master J'Son began being sponsored[3] by the largest DJ equipment manufacturing company in the world, Numark Industries.[4]
In 2011, DJ Jam Master J'Son went on his first international tour with American hip hop artist Mann and Virgin Islands-born singer Iyaz. The tour included stops in Lebanon,[5] Great Britain, France, Australia, Sri Lanka,[6] and South Korea. They were accompanied on the tour by famous music manager, Steve Lobel.
In 2012, DJ Jam Master J'Son and his younger brother T.J. Mizell made their debuts as the official DJs of Run–D.M.C at the Budweiser Made in America Festival.[7][8]
DJ Jam Master J'Son and T.J. Mizell were greeted by an ecstatic Beyonce after their historic performance in place of their late father.[9] It was Run–D.M.C's first performance
together in over ten years.[10][11] DJ Jam Master J'Son continues to tour with Run–D.M.C as their official DJ.[12]
In 2015, DJ Jam Master J'Son returned overseas with Iyaz to perform as a part of the Bangkok Music Festival in Bangkok, Thailand.[13][14][15]

DJ Jam Master J'Son[16] appeared as a guest DJ on B.E.T.'s 106 & Park[17] in May 2011.[18]
DJ Jam Master J'Son performed live on PBS with Naughty by Nature as a part of the Grammy Salute to the Legends series.[19][20] They performed a Run–D.M.C medley.
