MOL Aréna is a multi-use stadium in Dunajská Streda, Slovakia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda. The stadium holds currently 7,139 people (under renovation). The intensity of the floodlighting is 1,800 lux.

History

Stadium was opened in 1953. The main stand was built in the first half of the 1980s and was inaugurated for the 1985 Spartakiad. Capacity was 16,410 spectators. The stadium underwent reconstruction in 2008, when DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda started play in Corgoň Liga by merging with FC Senec.

In the 2016-17 league season, DAC drew an average home attendance of 4,112[2], the highest in the league.

2016-2018 reconstruction

Between 2016 and 2018, the current stadium will be replaced by a new, modern, all-sitting arena with capacity of 12,700 spectators.

In spring 2016 the old stands (except the main stand) were demolished. In June 2016, the construction of the new stadium began. In the first phase two new stands were built with an edge-stand between them. The main construction works finished in September. In November the stadium was ready for Slovakia league matches.

In the next phase will be constructed the main stand with dressing rooms, VIP and press rooms, fanshop, club museum and restaurant.

At least, there will be constructed the last stand which will replace current main stage. In this phase the facade of the stadium will be also constructed.

The new arena will have 4-star UEFA standard so it can be used for international matches.[3]
