Cynthia Pinot (born January 27, 1974) is an American film and television actress and former model.
Personal life
Pinot is of Spanish, French, German, and Native American ancestry and was born in Los Angeles, California. She is a niece of Mexican film actor "El Piporro", Eulalio Gonzalez. Born into a family of artists, Pinot started performing at the age of four when she joined the Dance Academy in Chicago and had her own spot on a PBS aftershool children's show. Sun Tzu and Khalil Gibran are among her favorite writers. Cynthia is a Painter and a Sculptor. Cynthia has involved herself in non-profit organizations like HAPPI (Handicapped Artists And Performers), and Saint Judes Foundation. She also donates time to work with adolescent correctional facilities in the Los Angeles area. Cynthia has been in a long term relationship with diamond jeweler, and art dealer Aldo Dinelli, also a former model with Elite Model Management and Ford Models.
Career
Pinot landed her first modeling contract at the age of 16 with Elite Model Management's petite division DIVA, after becoming a regional finalist in "The Look of the Year" model search. She later joined a Shakespearean performance troupe before she settled into The University Of Texas where she majored in theater. She is also a published poet and an artist. After a career as a model, Pinot re-launched her acting career in 2001 with a supporting role on Rush Hour 2.[1] She has worked mostly in the action film genre with directors like Brett Ratner, Bryan Spicer, Jon Cassar and James Wong. Pinot later worked on an International drama entitled Jornada Al Norte in 2006. This film starred Cynthia Pinot and was featured at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival,[2] and LA Film Festival. Cynthia has worked with Jackie Chan, Chris Tucker, Jet Lee and Tom Arnold. Pinot has appeared in the television series Alias,[3] and featured on the first season of 24 with Kiefer Sutherland. Anne Bancroft was Cynthia's Mentor in early 2001-2003.
Cynthia Pinot is Vice President of Icon Jewels, a company founded by Aldo Dinelli in 1988.
2006–Present
In 2006 Cynthia walked away from her career In July 2011 Cynthia returned to acting when she was cast to star in the Independent Film Do Not Disturb. Upon returning, Cynthia had a guest spot in the TV show, My Fair Wedding with David Tutera, and went on to book a total of six films that year.
Cynthia's quiet and sultry good looks have been noted by her industry, and has also been viewed as one of the most beautiful actresses by IMDB in its list of Most Beautiful Latin Woman in Film and TV.[4]
Pinot is regarded as a strong actress, and one of the talented rising star according to IMDB's list of Up and Coming Actresses to Watch for in 2012. Cynthia's one time Mentor Anne Bancroft was quoted saying "She Is The Real Deal." According to many in Hollywood, including her longtime coach Susan Batson, Cynthia is one of the ones to watch for in the race to the Academy Award for future Oscar Wins.
