Crown Prince Uigyeong
Crown Prince Uigyeong or Deokjong of Joseon or Prince Dowon (1438 – 2 September 1457, Korean: 의경세자) was a crown prince of the Korean Joseon Dynasty.
Biography
He was the eldest grandson of King Sejong the Great, eldest son of seventh King Sejo of Joseon and father of ninth King Seongjong of Joseon. He was titled as Prince Dowon until his father's accession to the throne. In 1450, he married with daughter of Han Hwak, a diplomat and Politician who served as Left or Second State Councillor which is equivalent to Vice Prime Minister during the era of his father, King Sejo. He was posthusmously honoured as "'Deokjong of Joseon"' when his son, King Seongjong became King in 1469 and his wife was honoured as "Queen Sohye", later known as Grand Queen Dowager Insu, who was co-regent of Joseon Dynasty from 1469 to 1477, along with her mother-in-law, Queen Jeonghee, wife of King Sejo. He and Queen Insu had two sons, Prince Wolsan (1454-1487), King Seongjong (1457-1494) and an unknown daughter.
