AllMusic's Ned Raggett gave the album two-and-a-half stars out of five, remarking that the band in this album "cranked up the volume and sought to take no prisoners", and also said that "songwise there's not much variety", but that in the end "most listeners would want some sort of break". Overall, the critic noted that the band does "try something different" in this release.[3]
